Every member of the team has a role that tells Shiori what they can and cannot do.

## The roles and their permissions

| Role | What they can do |
| --- | --- |
| **Designer** | Assigned to a shop's owners automatically. Manages the shop: details, images, pings, and more. |
| **Staff** | Scans and warns shops, previews embeds, and registers students. |
| **Mod** | Creates and deletes shops. |
| **Admin** | Full control: on top of everything above, manages the embeds and the systems. |

## What can any member do?

Without any special role, members can:

- **`/shop info`** — see a shop's details.
- **`/shop follow`** and **`/shop unfollow`** — follow or unfollow a shop.

## Roles the bot pings

- **ShopOpening** / **ShopUpdated** — the roles `/shop ping` pings when announcing an opening or an update.

Shop owners get the **Designer** role automatically. To manage a shop you need to be an owner with the **administrator** role — owners with the **publisher** role can only publish.
